Care Home Open Day

Tuesday, June 9th, 2015

About the open day

Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities.

Thousands of care homes across the UK take part each year, welcoming the public and arranging events and activities that help to create lasting links between care home residents and their local communities.

This is all about showing people what excellent care homes are really about and how they can be at the centre of local communities, developing relationships across the generations.

Fairfield House would therefore like to invite you in for some Cream Tea, fun & games, from 2pm-4pm on the 19th June to celebrate!

See you all soon!

The Care Act

Tuesday, March 31st, 2015

The Care Act brings care and support legislation together into a single act with a new well-being principle at its heart. It introduces major reforms to the legal framework for adult care and support in England – to the duties of local authorities, to the rights of those in need of care and support and their carers and to the funding system for care and support.

What does it mean for you?
Implementation of the Care Act will have significant implications for the adult social care workforce in England.

The changes will impact the way councils do business and the roles of their workforce. They will have an impact on care providers and user organisations and their roles in the delivery of care, and the expectations and duties placed on them by the new legislation.

A real Great Escaper’s tunnel vision

Wednesday, March 11th, 2015

Our very own Alan Bryett tells Martin Hesp of the the Western Daily Press how he survived being shot down over Berlin and his part in building the famous POW tunnel!

“Laying on his stomach on the Fairfield care-home floor, Alan inched his way slowly across the room towards the door where he craned his neck back to look up into the barrel of a gun…”
